Move Networks Announces Global Expansion Plans, Adds New Offices, and Strengthens Management Team
Infrastructure Bolstered to Accelerate the Delivery of HD Television Online
AMERICAN FORK, UT, April 15, 2008 — As part of its strategy to expand into new markets, Utah-based Move Networks, a leading provider of online television services, has opened four new offices across the U.S. with locations in Los Angeles and San Mateo, California, Ann Arbor, Michigan and New York City. The company also announced plans to expand its global footprint with the launch of international offices in Latin America, Europe, and Asia Pacific in 2008.
“As consumers’ demand for high -quality premium content at anytime and any place continues to grow at a rapid rate, the technology and infrastructure must keep pace with the global market demand,” said John Edwards, CEO of Move Networks. “Move Networks has put the right people, partnerships and resources in place to drive the next-generation of online video innovation. It’s an exciting time to be in the industry.”
Building upon the strong management team in place, the company has added key executives to help facilitate the strategic growth and direction of core areas across the business. Thomas Morgan joins the company as Chief Strategy Officer and is developing strategic initiatives focused toward client revenue opportunities and further extending Move’s profitable, sustainable business model for online television. Morgan brings more than 25 years industry experience to Move, having served as founder and CEO of BlackArrow Corporation, an ad-management technology company for viewer-controlled video. Most recently, Morgan worked with digital media consulting firm MediaD.tv, where he led business development efforts for on-demand and Internet-based television.
Paul Ptaschne joins Move Networks as VP of Sales, Latin America. He is responsible for growing Move Networks’ overall market share in that region. With more than 15 years international business experience, Ptaschne has managed advertising sales and operations positions for Fox Latin America, Bloomberg International, and Cisneros Television Group. He has also participated in television network launches across Brazil, Argentina and Mexico for major global companies.
“Move is focused on enabling media companies to predictably scale and monetize content while providing a seamless, high-quality viewing experience. The growth Move is experiencing, as well as the strategic investments announced this week, are great endorsements of Move’s industry leadership,” said Edwards.
