Move Networks Announces Microsoft as Strategic Investor

August 26, 2008– American Fork, UT – Move Networks, the leading provider of Internet television services, today announced that Microsoft has joined Move Networks’ Series C funding round as a strategic investor. Microsoft’s investment follows a previous announcement that Move Networks will work with Microsoft so that its Internet television services work seamlessly with Microsoft Silverlight, a cross-browser, multiplatform plug-in for delivering the next generation of media experiences and rich interactive applications via the Web.

With this strategic relationship, Microsoft Silverlight users can now experience high-quality, skip-free Internet television programming powered by Move Networks adaptive streaming technology. In addition, Move Networks’ customers can use Microsoft Silverlight to place unique branding, navigation and other rich interactive elements in and around their Internet television video streams.

By integrating their services with Microsoft’s Silverlight technology, Move Networks’ strengthens its ability to offer media companies and other publishers the most powerful and flexible end-to-end solution available for the delivery of high-quality, engaging Internet television programming.

The first demonstration of this collaboration can be viewed this week, as the Democratic National Committee uses Microsoft’s Silverlight technology and Move Networks’ Internet television services to deliver viewers live video from its 2008 convention in Denver.
